NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Serial Entrepreneurs Mike and Kass Lazerow Have Acquired a Controlling Interest in Merraine Group, Launching Merraine Growth to Support Venture-Backed Companies
Serial entrepreneurs and investors Mike and Kass Lazerow have acquired a controlling interest in Merraine Group, an executive search and staffing firm founded by David Gantshar. Gantshar, who remains CEO, has spent 25 years building the firm, which now launches Merraine Growth, a practice aimed at helping venture-backed companies hire faster.
Merraine Group, known for its executive search and staffing services across various sectors, including technology, private equity, healthcare, and the nonprofit sector, has seen significant growth. One of its notable achievements is the 400% revenue increase for Carda Health, a virtual cardiac and pulmonary rehab provider, since partnering with Merraine Growth.
Mike Lazerow, co-owner of Merraine Group, shared, "I've made the wrong hires before, not the ones you laugh about later, but the ones that cost you a year. Founders kept asking us who we use, and for a long time, we didn't have a good answer. Now we do."
The Lazerows, known for their New York Times bestselling book "Shoveling $h!t: A Love Story" and their co-founding of Buddy Media, which was sold to Salesforce for $745 million, have invested in over 100 companies, including Facebook, Etched AI, and Liquid Death. Their experience and networks will be crucial in driving Merraine Growth's success.
Merraine Growth focuses on filling roles from first sales hires and technical talent to C-suite and board-level placements. The practice has already placed key positions in venture-backed tech companies, such as a Head of Sales for Carda Health, a senior accounting leader for a late-stage AI company, and a Machine Learning Lead and Head of Engineering for a Chicago fintech firm.
