PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 08, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Medicus Pharma Ltd, a precision-guided biotech company, has unveiled a strategic shift toward becoming a leader in precision oncology. The company, whose stock is traded on NASDAQ under the ticker MDCX, now prioritizes the development of CD228V, a second-generation antibody-drug conjugate, as its primary focus.

CD228V is designed to target melanotransferrin (CD228) in solid tumors, including melanoma, squamous non-small cell lung cancer, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and esophageal cancer. The company has already secured an active U.S. Investigational New Drug (IND) for this program and is planning to initiate a Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT06799533) to establish clinical proof-of-concept in a carefully selected tumor population. The initial target is melanoma, particularly in patients with relapsed or refractory disease.

Dr. Raza Bokhari, the Executive Chairman and CEO of Medicus Pharma, stated, "Our objective is increasingly clear. We are concentrating our capital and organizational resources on programs where we believe focused clinical development and execution may create the greatest value and improve patient outcomes."

In addition to CD228V, the company is also refining its development strategies for two other therapeutic programs: SkinJect® and Teverelix®. SkinJect®, an investigational localized immuno-oncology precision product, is being prioritized for patients with Gorlin syndrome, a rare autosomal dominant disease characterized by multiple basal cell carcinoma (BCC) lesions. The company plans to initiate a registrational Phase 2b study (SKNJCT-005) in these patients, which has been authorized by the FDA.

Teverelix®, an investigational next-generation GnRH antagonist, is being developed for advanced prostate cancer patients, patients with acute urinary retention relapse, and women with symptomatic endometriosis. The company intends to focus on an approximately 126-patient Phase 2 study in acute urinary retention and the ongoing Phase 2a study in women with symptomatic endometriosis. Medicus also intends to explore strategic partnerships to advance the development of Teverelix® in advanced prostate cancer.

Dr. Bokhari emphasized, "This focused portfolio strategy provides multiple opportunities for meaningful clinical and shareholder value creation while enabling us to concentrate capital on programs with the most compelling near-term risk-adjusted potential."

Medicus Pharma, with its current therapeutic assets, has established itself as a precision-guided biotech/life sciences company. The company's CD228V, SkinJect®, and Teverelix® programs are supported by substantial prior scientific, translational, and clinical development. CD228V is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the company's precision oncology strategy, while SkinJect® and Teverelix® aim to address unmet medical needs in non-melanoma skin diseases and advanced prostate cancer, respectively.

With its clear strategic focus and a robust pipeline, Medicus Pharma is well-positioned to participate in the dynamic sectors of biotechnology and oncology. The company's commitment to precision oncology and patient-centric development is expected to drive its growth and enhance its long-term value.
