LA JOLLA, Calif., Sept. 08, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- MediciNova, a biopharmaceutical company traded on the NASDAQ Global Market and the Tokyo Stock Exchange, is set to participate in two investor conferences in September, aiming to enhance stakeholder communication and provide updates on its key milestones.
Dr. Yuichi Iwaki, the President and CEO of MediciNova, and Dr. David H. Crean, the Chief Business Officer, will attend these events. The first event is the H.C. Wainwright 28th Annual Global Investment Conference, which will be held from September 14 to 16 at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel. During the conference, MediciNova's management will hold one-on-one meetings with investors and provide a virtual presentation starting on September 11 at 7:00 a.m. Eastern time.
The second event is the ROTH Capital 5th Annual Healthcare Opportunities Conference, where MediciNova's management will participate in a panel titled “Frontiers in Neuroscience” on September 29 at The Metropolitan Club in New York City. In addition, the company’s executives will conduct one-on-one and small group meetings with investors.
In a statement, Dr. Iwaki highlighted the importance of these conferences for MediciNova. "These events underscore our commitment to regular interaction and communication with all stakeholders connected to our progress," he said. "We continue to work diligently toward an announcement around our key milestones. We expect to report topline data from our Phase 2 MN-001-NATG-202 study in metabolic disease by the end of the third quarter, followed by a topline readout from the double-blind phase of our lead program, the COMBAT-ALS study of MN-166, by the end of the year."
Dr. Iwaki also noted that the company is managing its $25.4 million cash position as of the second quarter of 2026 to ensure sufficient capital to execute on its business plan and demonstrate optimal shareholder value. "We are optimistic about the progress of our clinical programs and the potential they hold," Dr. Iwaki concluded.
MediciNova's lead asset, MN-166 (ibudilast), is currently in Phase 3 for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) and is Phase 3-ready for progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). The compound is also being evaluated in Phase 2 trials for Long COVID and substance dependence. MN-001 (tipelukast) is being assessed in a Phase 2 trial for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), and a second Phase 2 trial for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is ongoing.
The company has a strong track record of securing investigator-sponsored clinical trials funded through government grants, which it plans to leverage in its ongoing and future research.
