Meadows Publishing Solutions Enhances DesignMerge for Enfocus Switch Automation

Meadows Publishing Solutions has expanded its DesignMerge software to integrate with Enfocus Switch, adding a new level of automation to variable data printing (VDP) workflows. The latest release of the DesignMerge App for Enfocus Switch streamlines the production process by allowing jobs to move from preparation in Adobe InDesign through variable data processing and final imposed PDF output with minimal operator intervention.

The new automated workflow is designed to simplify the end-to-end VDP production process. At the heart of this workflow is the DesignMerge VDP Packager, a standard feature included with the DesignMerge software. This tool assembles all necessary components for processing a variable data job, including the Adobe InDesign document, fonts, linked graphics, data files, and other variable assets.

With the latest release, users can now include an Imposition Template created using DesignMerge PDF Imposer. The desired imposition is selected when the VDP job is packaged, ensuring that the imposition requirements travel with the job as it enters the automated Enfocus Switch workflow. This integration allows for a seamless transition from InDesign document to press-ready PDF.

The new automated workflow will be demonstrated at the PRINTING United Expo 2026, which takes place from September 23 to 25 in Las Vegas. Attendees can see the complete process in action, from packaging a DesignMerge job in Adobe InDesign through automated preflight, variable data processing, and creation of the final imposed PDF.
