VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Maxus Mining Inc. has announced the results of a preliminary interpretation and Maxwell plate modelling of 2026 airborne versatile time-domain electromagnetic (VTEM) data over the Alturas West Antimony Project in British Columbia. The project, which is part of the company’s ongoing exploration efforts, aims to refine drill targets and enhance the understanding of the mineralized Alps-Alturas shear corridor.
The interpretation, conducted by Convolutions Geoscience Corp., focused on electromagnetic responses within and adjacent to the shear zone hosting the historic Alps-Alturas antimony mine. A series of Maxwell plate models were fitted to selected responses distributed along a structural corridor spanning more than 900 meters, including responses beneath and adjacent to the historic mine workings.
According to the company, the fitted plates are simplified, non-unique representations of possible conductive sources and should not be interpreted as direct geological contacts or evidence of a single continuous conductor. The models provide additional constraints on the subsurface geometry of conductive features within the structural corridor and have been integrated with surface geology, historical workings, and structural measurements to refine drill targeting.
The Modelling highlights several key features. Multiple fitted Maxwell plate responses are distributed along a corridor spanning more than 900 meters of the mapped Alps-Alturas shear zone, including responses beneath or adjacent to the historic workings. The modelled geometry indicates that several fitted plates have moderate northerly dips, locally about 45 degrees, while one response is modelled with a contrasting southerly dip, suggesting changes in geometry along strike.
These findings have helped refine the location and orientation of drill targets across Alturas West. The company’s ongoing drill campaign, which marks the first drilling on the project in history, is focused on testing the Alps-Alturas shear zone. The integration of Maxwell plate interpretation with mapped geology, historical workings, structural measurements, and planned drill locations has provided additional constraints on the possible location and orientation of conductive targets along the structural corridor.
