Halifax West, a merchant bank, has helped Maverick Acquisition Ventures, Inc. (Mav, Inc.), a technology-enabled freight brokerage and forwarding platform, secure a $20 million asset-based revolving line of credit. The financing will support the company’s continued expansion and growth, enabling it to secure additional working capital for its nationwide operations.
Mav, Inc., headquartered in Redondo Beach, California, operates as a multi-modal freight brokerage and forwarding platform, serving over 250 active shippers across various industries. The company offers a wide range of services, including full truckload and less-than-truckload, expedited freight, air freight, drayage, international forwarding, and specialty logistics. Its purpose-built multi-modal transportation management system allows a single team to handle any freight type for a customer, setting it apart from traditional brokers and forwarders that serve only one side of the market.
Since its establishment in 2023, Mav, Inc. has grown rapidly, expanding its service capacity, deepening carrier partnerships, and building a diversified customer base. The company’s growth has been driven by a combination of organic agent recruitment and a series of acquisitions, extending its reach into the Pacific Northwest. In 2025, Mav, Inc. acquired Patrick Gubelli, the founder of Patrick Freight LLC, further enhancing its capabilities and market presence.
The asset-based revolving line of credit will be used to refinance existing funded debt and support strategic sales hires, expanded carrier relationships, and continued customer onboarding. The company plans to leverage this funding to accelerate its expansion and solidify its position in the freight brokerage and forwarding market. Halifax West acted as the exclusive financial advisor for this transaction, bringing its expertise in creative transaction structuring and deep lender relationships to the table.
Mav, Inc. CEO, Sarah Thompson, expressed her gratitude towards Halifax West, stating, “This new line of credit is a significant milestone for Mav, Inc. It will enable us to continue our growth journey and meet the demands of our expanding customer base. We are confident that this financing will support our strategic objectives and drive further regional growth.”
The new line of credit not only underscores Mav, Inc.’s commitment to expanding its services but also highlights the company’s ability to navigate the complex challenges of the freight industry. As Mav, Inc. continues to scale, it aims to maintain its reputation as a leader in the multi-modal transportation market.
