MatrixCare becomes independent and names new CEO

MatrixCare, a leading provider of cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions for out-of-hospital care settings, has become an independent company and named Jonathan Lujan as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The transition, announced on September 1, 2026, marks a significant step for the company, which now has greater flexibility and the ability to make rapid decisions and directly invest in its platform and innovation. As a standalone entity, MatrixCare can focus on advancing its solutions to better serve the needs of healthcare providers, including skilled nursing, senior living, home health, hospice, and life plan communities.
Lujan brings extensive experience in healthcare services and technology, having led operational and commercial transformations and created value in multiple roles. Most recently, he was CEO of Sight Growth Partners, where he transformed the company into one of the nation’s largest ophthalmology management organizations. His previous roles include Vice President and General Manager of Lifeline Vascular Care at DaVita and executive leadership positions at Surgical Information Systems, GE Healthcare, and J.P. Morgan's Healthcare Investment Banking Group.
"Today is a pivotal moment for MatrixCare," Lujan stated. "As an independent company, we have the resources and focus to invest directly in our platform and our people. We will build on more than four decades of trust we’ve earned and move swiftly to deliver the innovation our customers need. This is the start of our next chapter, and I am thrilled to lead the team into it."
MatrixCare’s solutions are trusted by thousands of facility-based and home-based care organizations, helping to improve provider efficiencies and enhance the quality of life for the people they serve. The company has been a multi-year winner of the Best in KLAS award and supports more than 15,000 providers in skilled nursing, senior living, and long-term care settings.
"MatrixCare’s independence will enable us to innovate more effectively and respond quickly to the evolving needs of our customers," said Lujan. "We are committed to continuing our legacy of excellence and delivering cutting-edge solutions to improve care delivery and patient outcomes."
As the company embarks on this new phase, it aims to maintain its position as a leader in out-of-hospital care technology, leveraging Lujan’s expertise to drive growth and innovation.
