BOERNE, Texas, Masters of Trivia, the global trivia platform, is set to host a unique competition at FAN EXPO Dallas, running from September 11 to 13. The event, titled "One Quiz to Rule Them All: The Middle-earth Championship," will feature a global leaderboard, bringing together trivia enthusiasts from the convention and online participants.

The tournament, scheduled for Sunday, September 13, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Central Time, is designed to challenge players with 90 questions divided into three tiers: Fellowship, Ranger, and Loremaster. The event is free to enter, and participants can compete from anywhere, with the same questions and timing.

The timing of the tournament is significant, marking the 25th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring. FAN EXPO Dallas, which is expecting over 65,000 attendees, is celebrating this milestone with a reunion of the film’s principal cast. Masters of Trivia’s choice of Middle-earth as the theme for its championship aligns with the convention’s focus on pop culture and fan engagement.

The format of the tournament is a direct result of the success of a previous event. At KamehaCon in San Antonio, August 21 to 23, Masters of Trivia hosted a Dragon Ball tournament that attracted over 300 players. Four competitors answered all 30 questions correctly, with the title decided by the average response time, one second per question. This format was deemed effective and has been adapted for the FAN EXPO Dallas event, with the per-question timer increasing from 15 seconds to 18 seconds.

"KamehaCon told us something we had suspected but never measured," explained Dom Einhorn, Founder and CEO of Masters of Trivia. "At the top of an expert fan community, knowledge stops being the constraint and speed becomes the discriminator. The Dallas set is built for that reality: the opening tier is answerable by anyone who has seen the films, and the final tier is where the appendices decide it."

Dr. Hanh Nguyen, Chief Brand Officer at Masters of Trivia, added, "A convention hall is the most concentrated expertise you will ever find on a single subject, and the online audience for that subject is a thousand times larger. Now, a fan in Dallas and a fan in Dublin can find out who read the appendices more carefully."

The event will feature Professor Whitman, the company mascot, on the floor throughout the weekend. The tournament is powered by the MOT utility token (MOT39052-USD), an SPL token on the Solana blockchain (SOL-USD), which will be used for tournament rewards and player incentives.

Masters of Trivia, founded in 2005 and headquartered in Boerne, Texas, offers over 100,000 quizzes across 17 categories and serves more than 300,000 monthly active players in 196 countries. The company’s rewards ecosystem is built around the MOT token, which is tracked on Yahoo Finance and CoinMarketCap.

The FAN EXPO Dallas event is an independent exhibitor, and the tournament is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by FAN EXPO HQ, Middle-earth Enterprises, the Tolkien Estate, or any Lord of the Rings rights holder.
