Masivo Silver Corp. has announced encouraging results from the first drill hole of its current exploration program at the Cerro Colorado Project in Sonora, Mexico. The company reports that the initial drilling, known as Drill Hole CC-26-001, intersected a broad polymetallic mineralized system.

The drill hole, which extended from 226.30 to 258.80 meters, yielded an average of 0.271% zinc, 7.0 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 0.141% lead, 0.025% copper, and 0.01 g/t gold. Importantly, the hole remained within the strongly altered and mineralized rhyolitic porphyry, despite drilling being terminated at 259.5 meters due to technical difficulties.

Higher in the hole, from 215.10 to 220.20 meters, the drilling intersected 5.10 meters averaging 24.0 g/t silver, 0.611% zinc, 0.121% lead, 0.035% copper, and 0.024 g/t gold. The bottom portion of the hole, particularly from 256.8 to 257.8 meters, showed assays of 15.6 g/t silver, 0.433% zinc, 0.244% lead, and 0.051% copper. From 257.8 to 258.8 meters, the assays were even more promising, with 29.4 g/t silver, 0.568% zinc, 0.293% lead, and 0.164% copper.

"These results are very encouraging," said David Coburn, President and CEO of Masivo Silver Corp.

The company believes the combination of the broad width of mineralization, strong alteration, persistent polymetallic signature, and strengthening grades near the bottom of the hole provides compelling technical justification for further exploration. Follow-up exploration will seek to determine the lateral and vertical continuity of the mineralized package and test whether the increasing metal tenor observed near the bottom of CC-26-001 vectors toward higher-grade portions of the system.

Masivo's exploration team will integrate the analytical results from CC-26-001 with geological logging, structural interpretation, alteration patterns, and available geophysical and surface geological information. The immediate objective is to use the first hole as a vector toward thicker, higher-grade polymetallic mineralization and to further define the geometry and scale of the Cerro Colorado mineralizing system.
