KATY, TX, UNITED STATES, October 6, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Marvin Mvondo, a Cameroonian-born US citizen and former CEO of the music label Blu Nation, has launched SplashArk, a free app designed to help informal sellers and creators get paid. Mvondo, who has spent over a decade in the music industry, saw firsthand the challenges faced by small sellers and creators who remain in the informal economy due to the lack of appropriate platforms and the high cost of setting up a structured business.

Mvondo, who produced Afrobeats and Afropop artists and organized events with top African acts like Rema, Davido, and Mr P of P-Square, recognized three key issues: talent that remains invisible, creators being squeezed by middlemen, and the rise of the many-hats worker. According to the International Labour Organization, 83.1% of all employment in Africa was informal in 2024. Mvondo believes that talent is not the problem; rather, access to the right platforms is. Most existing platforms were not designed for informal sellers and creators, keeping them in the informal economy and out of the spotlight.

SplashArk, launched in 2023 and based in Katy, Texas, aims to provide a one-stop solution for small sellers, service providers, and creators. The app combines a storefront for physical and digital products, a booking calendar with deposits across 35 service categories, and live selling with tickets, pay-per-view, and tips. Customers can pay through card payments via Stripe or mobile money through PawaPay, with payments held until delivery and disputes reviewed by people. WINTA, a built-in AI assistant, helps with pricing and customer questions. The app is available in English and French in more than 30 countries, making it a bridge for the diaspora.

The sub-Saharan African immigrant population in the United States has tripled since 2000, reaching 2.5 million in 2024. Many immigrants stay closely connected to family, customers, and communities on both sides of the Atlantic. Supporting both card payments and mobile money, and both English and French, is central to SplashArk's design. Mvondo believes that one person can be a teacher, a content creator, and a business owner before lunch, and they should not need five apps to run it.

SplashArk is now available on Google Play, the App Store, and the web at splashark.com. The app launches on Product Hunt on October 7, 2025.
