DEERFIELD, Ill., Nov. 3, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- In a significant legal victory, Mallet & Company has been granted a permanent injunction against Bundy Baking Solutions and its affiliate, Synova, following a series of rulings by a federal court in Pittsburgh. The court's decision, handed down in the wake of an April 2025 jury verdict, permanently bans Bundy Baking from selling any product derived from Mallet's trade secrets, including any product with a substantially similar formula to Mallet's market-leading baking release agents.
According to the court's order, Bundy Baking and Synova must destroy all copies of information that includes references to Mallet's trade secrets. Additionally, Mallet has been granted comprehensive audit rights for four years, allowing it to conduct thorough audits of Synova's batch records and other systems to ensure compliance. The audits will cover all Synova products, including those under development, and will extend to Bundy's products and databases, document management systems, computers, and servers.
Chief Judge Cathy Bissoon of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania emphasized the severity of the infringement, noting that Bundy Baking and Synova's actions were "willful and malicious." As a result, the companies were ordered to pay more than $20 million in damages, fees, and costs. This verdict, along with previous rulings, underscores the court's determination to hold the companies accountable for their actions.
