Mako Mining Corp. has secured a significant agreement with the Government of Guyana, paving the way for the advancement of the Eagle Mountain Gold Project. According to the terms of the deal, the company and its 100%-owned subsidiary, Stronghold Guyana Inc., will benefit from a stable framework covering legal, fiscal, and operating conditions for the project, which is located in Guyana.

The mineral agreement, signed on September 10, 2026, is structured under Guyana's Mining Act and provides a 10-year term. This agreement offers legal certainty for mining and prospecting licenses, as well as clear fiscal terms. The parties can negotiate modifications or renew the agreement on the same terms and conditions following the initial 10-year period. Key commitments include environmental initiatives, community development, and social programs, aligning with Mako's core values.

The agreement also includes financial contributions to the Ministry of Natural Resources' Training Centre, aimed at enhancing training, capacity building, and institutional development. Mako’s President, Steve Parsons, commented, "The signing of this mineral agreement marks a significant milestone for Eagle Mountain and represents a critical step in advancing and de-risking the project. The commitments to employment, training, environmental stewardship, and community development are closely aligned with our approach and values."

Mako Mining Corp. continues to focus on the permitting and regulatory process required to obtain Environmental Authorization for the Eagle Mountain Project. The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) was submitted to the Guyana Environmental Protection Agency in March 2026, and the public comment period was completed in June 2026. The company anticipates filing the final ESIA, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and regulatory authorities, during the fourth quarter of 2026. A permitting decision by the Guyana Environmental Protection Agency is expected thereafter.

Mako Mining Corp. operates the high-grade San Albino gold mine in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, and owns two assets in the US: the Moss Mine in Arizona and the Mt. Hamilton Project in Nevada. The company also holds a 100% interest in the PEA-stage Eagle Mountain Project in Guyana, South America. The project is the subject of ongoing engineering, environmental, and mine permitting activities.

The agreement underscores Mako’s commitment to responsible mining and community engagement. Parsons stated, "We appreciate the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the GGMC and look forward to continuing our collaborative approach as we advance the Eagle Mountain Project under this new mineral agreement."

This agreement is seen as a critical step for Mako Mining Corp. in securing a stable operating environment for the Eagle Mountain Gold Project. The company remains focused on advancing the permitting process to ensure the project's successful development.
