ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 30, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- MAK Technologies, a company of ST Engineering North America, has completed the first phase of a critical program aimed at training U.S. Marine Corps crews for the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV). The achievement marks a significant milestone in the development of a crew gunnery trainer that will enhance the readiness and coordination of Marine Corps personnel.

The ACV Crew Gunnery Trainer (CGT) prototype, developed and delivered in just six months, provides a safe and repeatable environment for Marines to practice crew coordination and gunnery skills before engaging in live-fire training. The system includes dedicated stations for the Driver, Gunner, Commander, and Instructor/Operator, allowing for comprehensive training, performance assessment, and after-action reviews.

Throughout the development process, Marines provided direct feedback during user evaluations, which helped refine the system and contributed to the successful completion of Phase 1. The Final User Evaluation (FUE) validated the benefits of crew-based training, demonstrating that Marines could quickly develop the necessary coordination and decision-making skills to operate the ACV effectively.

Building on this success, MAK Technologies has been awarded Phase 2 of the program. This next phase will further expand and mature the training capability, ensuring it aligns with the operational requirements and user feedback from the Marine Corps. The goal is to enhance and evolve the ACV CGT, ultimately leading to a fielded production system that will support Marine Corps readiness.

Bill Cole, CEO of MAK Technologies, expressed pride in the partnership and the progress made.

Captain Fanning, the USMC Project Officer of ACV Crew Gunnery Trainer, PM AAA, echoed the sentiment.

The ACV CGT prototype is designed to provide a safe and efficient training environment, ensuring that Marine Corps crews can develop the necessary skills to operate the ACV effectively. As the program moves into Phase 2, MAK Technologies and the Marine Corps will continue to refine and expand the training capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the military.
