CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 1, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Lucid Bots, the world's largest provider of cleaning drones, has unveiled a new system that allows its Sherpa drone to reach heights of 280 feet above ground level, marking a significant advancement in the drone cleaning industry. The demonstration took place at the Monarch Casino Resort Spa in Black Hawk, Colorado, a mountain town that sits roughly 8,000 feet above sea level, presenting unique challenges for drone operations.
The Sherpa HighLine, a software-controlled, motorized rooftop pulley system, was designed to help cleaning operators reach taller buildings and pursue more revenue opportunities. By reducing the weight of the cleaning hose carried by the drone, the system enables the aircraft to work at greater heights without relying solely on increased lifting capacity. This innovation is particularly important for cleaning businesses that need to reach more properties and take on larger project scopes.
During the demonstration, the Sherpa drone was able to perform exterior cleaning on the 23-story hotel tower of the Monarch Casino Resort Spa. The project was carried out in partnership with BlackJet Drone Solutions, MG Cleaning Systems, and Oklahoma Drone Technologies. The Sherpa HighLine allowed the drone to support the cleaning hose from the rooftop, significantly reducing the weight the aircraft had to carry. This approach not only enabled the drone to reach the full 280-foot height of the building but also supported larger-diameter hoses, which can deliver more cleaning flow.
The Sherpa HighLine is expected to be released in a limited capacity in the fourth quarter of 2026, with full production targeted for early 2027. Operators can reserve a place in line with a $250 refundable deposit, which will be credited toward the purchase price. Lucid Bots, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, is backed by Y Combinator and has raised $34 million in funding. The company serves a network of more than 400 operators across more than 40 states and three continents, providing hands-on training, U.S.-based technical support, and ongoing product innovation to help operators take on more work, improve productivity, and grow their businesses.
The Sherpa drone, designed and built in the United States, is part of Lucid Bots' commitment to expanding the capabilities of drone cleaning technology. With the Sherpa HighLine, the company aims to help its customers win taller buildings and clean more of each one, thereby increasing the scope and value of individual contracts and improving job margins.
