Loop8 Launches Free Privacy App Without Master Password

Loop8, a privacy controller app, has launched its free version to the public, offering a secure alternative to traditional password managers and secure note apps. The app, available on both iOS and Android, aims to simplify personal data management while ensuring robust security.

Users can access Loop8 using their phone's biometrics, eliminating the need for a master password, which is often a source of security vulnerabilities. The app includes several features designed to enhance privacy and security:

- Note8: A simple notes app that protects sensitive information with biometric security. - True8 Connect: A private messaging platform that automatically deletes messages after eight days, ensuring no traces remain. - Authenticator: A two-factor authentication tool that generates codes on the device, providing an additional layer of security. - PrivacyMate: A service that scans the dark web for any compromised data related to the user, providing real-time alerts.

The free version of Loop8 is now available on the App Store for iOS devices and on Google Play for Android. Users can download and use the app without registering with personal details such as a name, age, or gender. The app stores no data on its servers, ensuring that user information remains entirely on the user's own devices or in their cloud accounts.

For an enhanced experience, the paid version offers additional features: - Password Manager: Securely stores and manages user credentials, with no master password required. - MySafe: A desktop tool that keeps data on the user’s computer and can be backed up to an external storage solution, such as a Google Drive.

According to Zarik Megerdichian, the founder and CEO of Loop8, "Most people aren't security experts, and they shouldn't have to be. We built Loop8 for everyone else. It's simple, and there's nothing for you to manage."

In the event of a lost device, the app’s encrypted backup remains secure. Trusted contacts can help regain access, ensuring that the user’s data remains protected. Unlike other password managers and secure note apps that store user data on company servers, Loop8 does not maintain any copies of user information, significantly reducing the risk of data breaches.

Megerdichian added, "The master password had a good run. As of today, people have another option."

The app is currently free on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, offering a comprehensive privacy controller for all users. With the growing concern over data security and privacy, Loop8 aims to provide a user-friendly and secure solution to manage personal information.
