LONDON, Sept. 24, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- London Business School (LBS) has unveiled the SARI Foundation Institute for Work, Careers and Longevity, its first endowed research institute. The initiative aims to explore and address the challenges and opportunities associated with longer working lives, which may span up to six decades.
The institute, led by Academic Co-Directors Lynda Gratton and Herminia Ibarra, will focus on generating original research and thought leadership. Their goal is to provide insights that can help individuals, organizations, and institutions support productive and meaningful work across extended lifespans.
The SARI Institute will engage in global dialogue, pioneering academic research, and practical insights to tackle the most pressing questions in the fields of careers, longevity, and business. The institute's research will explore how individuals can maintain sustained contribution and renewal throughout their working lives, while organizations and institutions adapt to the changing landscape.
The institute's launch is made possible by an anonymous alumnus and longtime supporter of the School, who has generously donated £25m. This substantial gift will support the institute's research and thought leadership efforts, ensuring that it can make a significant impact on the understanding and management of longer working lives.
Lynda Gratton's latest book, *Living the 100-Year Life*, offers a fresh perspective on the future of work and life, while Herminia Ibarra's forthcoming book, *The Bonus Years: Reinventing our Longer Work Lives*, argues that mastering the skill of change is key to navigating the extended working life.
The SARI Foundation Institute for Work, Careers and Longevity is poised to become a leading voice in the discourse on longevity and work, contributing to the development of strategies and practices that can help individuals and organizations thrive in an era of extended working lives.
