Live Operations by Quickplay centralizes management of live broadcasts and OTT channels

Quickplay, the Content to Value Operating System for media and entertainment, has introduced Live Operations, a cloud-native solution designed to centralize and automate the management of live broadcast and OTT channels. This new platform allows operators to control scheduling, signal management, ad decisioning, and content production from a single console, marking a significant advancement in the industry.

Live Operations is ideal for broadcasters, streaming operators, and news organizations managing distributed stations without dedicated on-site engineering staff. It offers a comprehensive suite of tools, including scheduler and EPG management, live channel and signal control, ad break and SCTE-35 management, live disruption and fallback protection, live-to-VOD and clip production, and monitoring and observability. By integrating these functions, Quickplay aims to streamline workflows and reduce operational complexity.

"We spend approximately 75% of our time on technical workflows," explained Paul Pastor, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of Quickplay. "With Live Operations, broadcasters can focus on delivering high-quality live programming, unencumbered by technical constraints."

Traditionally, managing live broadcasts required a stack of disconnected tools, each handling a specific task. This fragmented approach often led to delays in addressing technical issues, as teams had to navigate multiple systems. Live Operations addresses this problem by providing a unified control plane that enables real-time monitoring and automated fallback protection.

"AI at a single step creates value, but AI orchestrated across every step of the broadcast network creates compounding value," Pastor added. "This is the power we're showcasing at IBC 2026."

Quickplay's Live Operations is part of its Content to Value Operating System, which connects every stage of digital media production and monetization. The system includes five engines: Stream, Enrich, Activate, Engage, and Maximize. Live Operations operates within the Stream engine, delivering broadcast-grade, scalable streams for live, VOD, catch-up, and virtual channels.

At IBC 2026 in Hall 5.G86, Quickplay will demonstrate the capabilities of Live Operations, highlighting the success of its implementation with clients such as Television New Zealand (TVNZ) and Gray Media.

"Live Operations challenges today's status quo by eliminating the need for disconnected systems," said Juan Martin, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Quickplay. "If something breaks down during a live broadcast, teams are notified and a fix is in process in real-time. There is no dead air, no missed SCTE cues, and no failed signals."

Founded by four innovators with extensive experience in media and entertainment technology, Quickplay operates from headquarters in Toronto and has offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, Chennai, and throughout Europe. The company processes 2.5 billion streaming minutes per month, serving 5 billion ad impressions with 99.999% streaming uptime.
