LITFINCON Europe, the premier global conference series for the litigation finance industry, is set to open its doors in Amsterdam from October 7 to 8. This event, which marks the first edition of the conference in Europe, will bring together senior leaders from prominent firms such as Burford Capital, Therium Capital Advisors, Susman Godfrey, CAC Specialty, Ignite Specialty Risk, and WTW.
The conference, organized by Siltstone Capital, an active investor in legal finance, aims to foster meaningful interactions among decision-makers shaping the European legal finance market. The event will feature a VIP dinner and an Amsterdam canal cruise on October 6, followed by two days of panel discussions and networking opportunities.
Jim Batson, Chief Investment Officer of Legal Finance at Siltstone Capital, emphasized the importance of building relationships in the litigation finance industry. "We underwrite and deploy capital in this market ourselves, so we build the conference we would want to attend. The content matters, but relationships and introductions are what people take home."
The 11-panel program will address several key questions facing the legal finance market in Europe, including the pricing of European collective actions, the creation of investable opportunities through arbitration award enforcement, the impact of the Unified Patent Court on IP strategy, the role of artificial intelligence and technology in transforming litigation and legal finance, and the increasing use of insurance to structure and de-risk legal assets.
Notable speakers include Philipp Leibfried, Managing Director and Head of Europe at Burford Capital; Caroline Taylor, Founding Partner at Ignitis; Ayanna Lewis-Gruss, Senior Counsel at Siltstone Capital; Neil Purslow, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Therium Capital Advisors; Max Tribble, Partner at Susman Godfrey; Jasmine Stuart, Compliance Director at Complex Risk; Dan Kesack, Director of Litigation and Contingent Risk Solutions at WTW; Nick Moore, SVP and Head of the London Contingent Risk Office at CAC; Jamie Molloy, Head of ATE at Ignite Specialty Risk; Tets Ishikawa, CEO of LionFish Capital; and Gian Kull, CEO of Legal Asset Servicing.
The conference will also feature a VIP dinner at the Rosewood Amsterdam and an Amsterdam canal cruise, as well as the inaugural European edition of Lunch, Law & Laughs, hosted by comedian Valeria Vulpe. Attendees are encouraged to register at www.litfinconeurope.com, with a limited number of seats available to preserve the senior, relationship-driven format of the conference.
Siltstone Capital, an alternative investment firm with a legal finance strategy, has organized the series, which has previously been held in Houston, Beverly Hills, and Singapore. The upcoming European edition is supported by Burford Capital, CAC Specialty, WTW, Ignite Specialty Risk, Victoria Peak Litigation Funding, Legal Asset Servicing Ignitis, and Complex Law.
