Lexaria Bioscience Corp, a global innovator in drug delivery platforms, has announced a significant update to its financial position. The company has secured a strong cash position following the receipt of an Australian tax refund and a recent institutional financing round. The combined net proceeds from these two sources amounted to US$7.9 million, bringing the company's total cash on hand to approximately US$4.60 per share.

According to Rich Christopher, CEO of Lexaria Bioscience Corp, the company is currently in a strong financial position.

The institutional financing round was priced at US$12.92 per share, raising a total of US$7.9 million. This, combined with the company's pre-existing cash balance, has extended Lexaria's cash runway through 2027.

Lexaria Bioscience Corp operates a licensed in-house research laboratory and holds a robust intellectual property portfolio with 66 patents granted and additional patents pending worldwide. The company's DehydraTECH™ platform technology is designed to improve the way a wide variety of drugs enter the bloodstream, always through oral delivery. The technology has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to increase bio-absorption, reduce side-effects, and deliver some drugs more effectively across the blood-brain barrier.

The company has made significant progress on its business development front and expects to spend less of its own resources to fund R&D efforts in 2027.

Lexaria will have progress updates on its ongoing 2026 R&D programs soon and will also provide guidance towards its 2027 R&D programs now that the financing activities are complete and budgets can be assembled. The company currently has only 2.1 million shares issued and outstanding, and the US$7.9 million in fresh new capital plus its pre-existing cash balance represents approximately US$4.60 per share in current cash on hand.
