Leocor Mining Completes Airborne EM Survey at Copper Creek Prospect

Leocor Mining Inc. has completed a significant airborne electromagnetic (EM) survey over its Copper Creek prospect in the Baie Verte gold-copper exploration package, located in Newfoundland, Canada. The survey, conducted by Geotech Ltd., follows up on the company's maiden drilling campaign in 2025, which uncovered stockwork chalcopyrite mineralization indicative of a Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) mineralizing system.
The VTEM™ Plus survey, carried out by Geotech, aims to identify potential targets for further exploration. This technology, which maps subsurface variations in electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility, is particularly effective for VMS exploration due to the strong electrical conductivity contrasts displayed by dominant sulfide minerals, such as chalcopyrite and pyrite, against unmineralized host rocks.
The survey, completed on September 10, 2026, covers a wide area, providing detailed data that will be crucial in pinpointing areas of interest. Leocor Mining Inc., based in Vancouver, British Columbia, is focused on the exploration and development of precious metals projects in Eastern Canada. The Baie Verte project, situated on the north central coast of the island of Newfoundland, includes the Copper Creek prospect, which was the focus of the recent survey. The area is part of a broader exploration package that spans 2,002 hectares and has a history of mineralization, including past-producing VMS mines.
The Baie Verte Peninsula is known for its well-documented mineral endowment, with significant occurrences of VMS deposits. The geological setting of the project area includes mafic volcanic and metasedimentary sequences of the Notre-Dame Subzone of the Dunnage Zone of the Newfoundland Appalachians. This geological environment is consistent with the development of exhalative and replacement-type VMS deposits.
The 2025 drilling campaign at the Copper Creek prospect successfully identified stockwork chalcopyrite mineralization, interpreted as feeder-type mineralization of a VMS system. Additional hallmarks of VMS systems, such as anomalous zinc mineralization and lenses of massive and semi-massive pyrite, were also noted. These findings are expected to inform the next phase of exploration efforts.
