Leggett Dynamics, a leading provider of automotive seating and motion solutions, has been recognized for its innovative technologies at the 50th Automotive News Congress in Detroit. The company’s Mid-Class Massage System and Smart Brushless Motor have been named finalists for the 2026 Automotive News PACE and PACE Pilot Awards, respectively. These accolades highlight Leggett Dynamics’ commitment to developing advanced comfort and motion solutions that meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry.
The Mid-Class Massage System, now in production with a global Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), is a breakthrough in premium massage technology. Unlike traditional systems that rely on electronics and moving parts, this innovation uses the Coandă effect to create a distinctive massage experience. The system’s design eliminates complexity and reduces costs, making premium massage available to a broader range of vehicles.
The Smart Brushless Motor, on the other hand, addresses the industry’s shift towards software-defined vehicles and centralized architectures. This motor supports scalable integration across various seat configurations, enabling direct communication between the vehicle’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and individual actuators. By reducing wiring, weight, and complexity, the Smart Brushless Motor delivers a quieter, smoother seating adjustment, faster memory recall, and greater flexibility for future vehicle platforms.
Leggett Dynamics will showcase these innovations at the 50th Automotive News Congress, which takes place from September 29 to 30 in Detroit. Attendees are invited to explore both technologies firsthand and interact with the development team. Beyond this event, the company will also demonstrate these innovations at the Automotive Design & In-Cabin Expo in Novi, Michigan, from October 27 to 29, and at the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg, Germany, from October 27 to 29.
Julien Rea, Vice President of Global Innovation and Engineering at Leggett Dynamics, stated, “Automakers continue to balance innovation, speed, and cost while preparing for the next generation of vehicles. Our innovations reflect our commitment to helping customers bring differentiated technologies to market faster. We are honored to be recognized by Automotive News for both innovations.”
