NEW YORK, Oct. 5, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- More than 300 industry professionals gathered in New York for the 2026 Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards, marking the largest turnout in the dinner's 13-year history. The event, hosted by LatinFinance, highlighted the growing investor appetite for energy and infrastructure projects across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The awards recognized several outstanding transactions, including the $3 billion refinancing of 11 solar and battery storage assets by Atlas Renewable Energy, which won the Infrastructure Deal of the Year: Latin America award. The company also claimed the Project Sponsor of the Year title for the second consecutive year. Santander CIB, a long-standing winner, was named Infrastructure Bank of the Year: Latin America for the fourth time, and also took the Mexico bank award for its roles in the Cox acquisition of Iberdrola México and Mexico City's Cablebús green bond.

The event followed a day of discussions at LatinFinance's 2026 LAC Energy, Infrastructure & Sustainable Finance Roundtable, which featured prominent figures such as Nuevo León Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda, CEO of Acelen Luiz de Mendonça, CEO of Cox Nacho Moreno, Head of International Treasury & Finance at AES Oscar Manuel Batres, Secretary of Administration and Finance of the Mexico City Government Juan Pablo de Botton, and Diego Donoso, Managing Director, Emerging Markets Credit, at Apollo. The roundtable explored topics ranging from nearshoring-driven demand for power and water to the financing of Brazil's energy transition and investor appetite for Mexican project risk.

Among the honorees, the Casa dos Ventos $1.077 billion US Private Placement and Quiport's $300 million 144A/RegS Notes and $200 million loan received Honorable Mention awards. These recognitions underscore the growing importance of sustainable and innovative financing in the region.

The awards, selected by LatinFinance's editors following an extensive judging process, covered transactions that closed in the 12 months to May 31, 2026. Full articles on the winners are available in the Q4 2026 edition of LatinFinance magazine and on the company's website.
