Laser Light Launches RFI for HALO Satellite Constellation

Laser Light Holdings, Ltd, a company at the forefront of global data infrastructure, has initiated a Request for Information (RFI) process to secure contractors and suppliers for its planned High Articulation Laser Optical (HALO) satellite constellation. The company aims to establish a comprehensive, ultra-high-speed, on-demand global network that integrates space, terrestrial, and subsea infrastructure to meet the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) connectivity.

According to Robert "Bob" Brumley, Chairman and CEO of Laser Light Holdings, the RFI marks a critical stage in bringing the company's validated architecture to market. With key patents approved, ground, subsea, compute, and storage assets under contract and expanding, and the StarBeam™ network orchestration system in development, Laser Light is poised to deliver an industry-first, multi-domain global data ecosystem. This system is designed to support global, regional, and local needs, offering high-bandwidth, low-latency routes and data distribution tailored to customers' diverse requirements.

The RFI process is open to companies interested in acting as the prime contractor for the HALO system, which includes the space segment, optical satellite system (OSS) payload, spacecraft bus, ground segment, optical terminals, sky sensor, extended ground network system (XGNS) interface, satellite operations center, network operations center, and core interface for StarBeam AI Operating System. Laser Light is also soliciting companies that may provide subsystems, components, or services such as launch.

Expressions of interest must be submitted by October 2nd at 11:59pm Eastern Daylight Time. Prospective vendors must indicate whether they are interested in the Prime Contractor role or will be providing information to Laser Light to be qualified as a potential subsystem or component supplier. Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) must be completed by October 9th at 11:59pm Eastern Daylight Time. Prospective Offerors who express interest and complete the NDA will be able to access the full RFI details at www.laserlightcomms.com/RFI no later than October 12, 2026. Detailed RFI responses are due by November 2nd at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time.
