LaFleur Minerals Inc., a company focused on the development of district-scale gold projects in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d'Or, Québec, has announced a significant change in its board of directors. Effective September 15, 2026, Rauni Malhi has been appointed as a director, bringing a wealth of experience in the mining sector to the company.
Malhi, based in Delta, British Columbia, is currently employed at Delta Law Office. She has previously served on the board of directors of several TSX Venture Exchange-listed issuers, including Cairo Resources, which was rebranded to Gladiator Metals Corp. Malhi's appointment comes as a result of the resignation of Michael Kelly, who stepped down as a director effective September 7, 2026. The company expressed gratitude for Kelly's contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors.
With the new appointment, the composition of LaFleur Minerals' board of directors now includes Kulwant Malhi (Chairman), Paul Teniere (President), Jeff Swinoga, Peter Espig (Senior Advisor), and Rauni Malhi. The company's management team remains intact, with Andrew Elinesky as CEO, Harry Nijjar as CFO, Jean Lafleur as Senior Advisor, Marc Ducharme, P. Geo as VP Exploration, and Louis Martin, P. Geo as Technical Advisor and Exploration Manager.
The company has also reconstituted its audit committee, with Jeff Swinoga, Peter Espig, and Kulwant Malhi serving as members. This change in leadership is expected to bring new perspectives and expertise to the company's governance and oversight.
In addition to the board changes, LaFleur Minerals has granted 500,000 incentive stock options to Rauni Malhi under the company's stock option plan. The options are exercisable at $0.40 per share until September 15, 2031, with 250,000 vesting immediately and the remaining 250,000 vesting six months from the date of grant. The grant is subject to the policies of the Canadian Securities Exchange.
LaFleur Minerals is focused on advancing mining projects with a particular emphasis on its PEA-stage Swanson Gold Project and the Beacon Gold Mill. The Swanson Gold Project includes a total of 481 claims and 1 mining lease, covering 200.7 km² and hosting several prospects rich in gold and critical metals. The company has consolidated a large land package along a major structural break that hosts the Swanson, Bartec, and Jolin gold deposits, among others.
The Beacon Gold Mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, is being considered for processing mineralized material from the Swanson project and for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects. LaFleur recently released the results of a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project, which includes inferred mineral resources that are too speculative to be categorized as mineral reserves. The PEA suggests significant potential for long-term value creation.
The company's CEO, Andrew Elinesky, stated, "The appointment of Rauni Malhi to our board brings valuable experience in the mining sector, which will be instrumental in advancing our projects. We are committed to delivering long-term value to our shareholders through the development of the Swanson Gold Project and the Beacon Gold Mill."
The company's mission remains focused on advancing mining projects with a laser-like focus on the Swanson Gold Project and the Beacon Gold Mill, which have significant potential to deliver long-term value.
