La Compagnie, a 100% Smart Business Class airline, is set to launch a new nonstop service between New York's Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) in Germany, starting in Spring 2027. The service, which will operate up to five times weekly, aims to provide a premium option for both business and leisure travelers.

According to Christian Vernet, President and CEO of La Compagnie, the launch of this new route responds to clear demand in North Rhine-Westphalia, one of Europe's most economically important regions. With over 24,000 international companies based in the state, including approximately 1,700 U.S. companies, and Düsseldorf being a key trade show destination, the route is expected to cater to a diverse clientele.

The new service will feature a single Airbus A321neo LR, offering all-business-class accommodations. Every seat will convert into a fully flat bed, providing passengers with a comfortable, efficient journey across the Atlantic. Additional amenities include complimentary gate-to-gate unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi, state-of-the-art entertainment, and gourmet seasonal menus created by renowned chefs, paired with French wines and Champagne.

Upon arrival in Düsseldorf, travelers will have access to the DUS Sky Lounge in Pier C, while those departing from Newark can utilize the airline's dedicated private lounge, Lounge&Co. The new service will mark another significant milestone for La Compagnie, which has been redefining business-class travel since 2014. Currently, the airline connects Newark with Paris Orly, Nice Côte d'Azur, and Milan Malpensa.

The launch of the Düsseldorf route will be supported by the planned arrival of a third Airbus A321neo LR in 2027 and a fourth Airbus A321neo XLR in 2028. As part of its commitment to more responsible air travel, La Compagnie is investing in quieter, more fuel-efficient aircraft designed to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 30% compared to its previous-generation fleet.

The airline's route expansion underscores its strategic vision to connect key business hubs across the Atlantic. Düsseldorf, being one of the world's leading trade show destinations, is well-suited to the unique all-business-class model. With strong international businesses and longstanding ties to the United States, North Rhine-Westphalia is an ideal market for La Compagnie's premium service.

Lars Redeligx, CEO of Düsseldorf Airport, emphasized the strategic importance of the new connection, stating, "The United States is a key market for our state's economy, and New York is one of the world's most important travel destinations. La Compagnie is bringing a clearly defined product to our airport: nonstop, comfortable, and designed for people who want to cross the Atlantic efficiently and in a relaxed way."

The new service is expected to strengthen the economic ties between the United States and North Rhine-Westphalia, offering travelers a convenient gateway to the Rhineland's historic towns, vineyards, and renowned river-cruise itineraries along the Rhine. The route's unique all-business-class experience is designed to provide a more enjoyable journey, from the airport to arrival, with seamless access to lounges at every airport.

As the largest airport in Germany's most populous federal state, Düsseldorf Airport combines a strong local market with accessibility, efficiency, and a premium airport environment. The launch of La Compagnie's new service is set to bolster the airport's position as a key hub for transatlantic travel.
