Tallahassee, Fla., September 4, 2026, Florida State University (FSU) Athletics and Kin Insurance, a direct-to-consumer provider of insurance and home finance solutions, have announced a historic four-year partnership. This collaboration will see the Kin logo appear on the jerseys of nearly every varsity sport at FSU, marking the first time a brand is featured as a jersey patch across the athletic program’s uniforms.
The partnership, which will debut on September 7 when FSU football faces SMU, includes 18 varsity programs: football, women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field, baseball, beach volleyball, women's lacrosse, softball, men's and women's golf, and men's and women's tennis. Kin Insurance is now the preferred insurance partner of FSU Athletics.
"This partnership is a natural fit between two organizations that share a commitment to Florida's people, communities, and future," said Michael Alford, vice president and director of athletics at Florida State University. "Kin's Florida roots and dedication to serving Floridians make them a perfect match for our university. Together, we are building meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes and supporting the competitive excellence of FSU Athletics."
Kin Insurance has been trusted by Floridians since 2017 to protect nearly $100 billion worth of their most valuable assets, including homes and cars. The company specializes in helping homeowners in high-risk states, providing support through severe weather, rising costs, and a changing insurance market. Kin currently operates in 14 states, with Florida being its largest market.
"Florida State University develops talented individuals who go on to lead across the state, including future leaders in the insurance industry," said Sean Harper, co-founder and CEO of Kin Insurance. "We are proud to support these students and build a company where they can do important work. Kin started in Florida because we saw a real need for better, more accessible insurance, and we continue to invest here despite market challenges. This partnership aligns with our shared values of ambition and resilience."
The partnership extends beyond the jerseys, providing significant resources to student-athletes and communities. Kin’s investment will support the development of future insurance industry leaders, as well as enhance the competitive excellence of FSU Athletics. The collaboration was facilitated by Legends Global, a premier partner to the world’s greatest live events, venues, and brands.
"This partnership is about more than just branding," Harper added. "It’s about aligning our values and supporting the growth and success of both our organizations."
The partnership will run through the 2029-2030 seasons, bringing Kin Insurance’s logo to the uniforms of Florida State’s student-athletes and strengthening the bond between the university and its home state.
