Kia Unveils PV7 Electric Van for Commercial and Passenger Use

Kia has unveiled the PV7, the second model in its all-electric Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup, at the IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany. This new vehicle expands Kia’s PBV offering, providing greater space, flexibility, and capability for commercial operations and passenger transport.
The PV7 comes in two variants: the Passenger and the Cargo. The Passenger model offers flexible seating and long-distance comfort, while the Cargo model boasts high load capacity, a low loading height, and business-focused practicality. Both models are built on Kia’s PBV-dedicated E-GMP.S architecture, which combines 800V charging and long-range capability with a scalable drivetrain portfolio.
Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia, emphasized the PV7’s role in advancing the company’s PBV strategy.
The PV7’s hardware is designed to maximize interior space and flexibility. Its flat-floor design supports a wide range of body styles, derivatives, and conversion models tailored to diverse operational needs. At the software level, Kia provides the Kia Business Solutions Portal, which supports fleet management, charging, maintenance, and daily operations. Standardized Fleet Management System (FMS) and connected vehicle data APIs help improve fleet visibility and support more efficient day-to-day operations.
Kia also offers dedicated Uptime services that support vehicle availability through real-time monitoring, predictive diagnostics, and proactive maintenance management. These connected solutions are designed to reduce operational disruption and support Kia’s commitment to service excellence.
The PV7 is expected to launch in Korea and Europe in 2027, with additional derivatives and markets to follow. Kia plans to expand the PV7 lineup to 23 variants, with the PV9 set to follow in 2029, further broadening the brand’s PBV lineup and mobility solutions.
Sangdae Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia’s PBV Business Division, highlighted the PV7’s adaptability to changing customer needs.
The PV7’s unveiling at IAA Transportation 2026 marks a significant step in Kia’s commitment to the all-electric vehicle market and its dedication to providing innovative solutions for commercial and passenger transport.
