KIA America Sets New Sales Record in August

In August, KIA America sold 83,793 vehicles, marking a 1% increase from the previous year and setting a new historical monthly sales record. This achievement comes as the company also reported a 3% increase in cumulative sales for the first eight months of the year, reaching 590,377 units, with 543,085 units sold through dealerships. Six key models—Telluride, Seltos, Sportage, Carnival, K5, and K4—registered their best-ever sales figures in August.
Hybrid and fully electric vehicle sales also saw significant growth, with hybrid models increasing by 111% and electrified models by 60% compared to August 2025. These figures contribute to KIA's continued strong performance in the electric vehicle market.
"KIA’s broad appeal and diverse powertrain offerings have directly contributed to the high demand for our models and the record-breaking sales performance," stated Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at KIA America. "The 2027 Seltos is rapidly gaining popularity among consumers, and the Telluride continues to exceed expectations. With the introduction of the EV3, a more affordable electric SUV, KIA is well-positioned to maintain its record-breaking sales momentum through the end of the year and achieve our fourth consecutive annual sales record."
In addition to the impressive sales figures, KIA America also announced new pricing for the 2027 EV3, starting at $29,890 plus $1,495 for shipping. This model is designed to expand the adoption of electric vehicles by offering a package that combines an SUV with advanced technology and practical daily use. The Sportage, a popular model, will also see a new X-Line version with panoramic sunroof and smart rear-door technology, aligning it more closely with the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid versions.
The 2027 Niro, KIA’s hybrid crossover, will start at $29,890 and include new S and EX models alongside the existing LX and SX versions. The new model features redesigned front and rear bumpers with Kia’s characteristic Star Map lighting elements, wireless updates, and advanced driver assistance technologies like highway driving assistance and 360-degree panoramic monitors.
