KanEquip JCB, a leading dealer of agricultural and construction equipment, has expanded its operations into the Kansas City market, marking a significant step in the company's growth strategy. The move, which follows the sale of CSTK (Central States Thermo King) to Trane, Inc., allows KanEquip JCB to offer JCB products exclusively at its new dealership in Kansas City.
Founded in 1999 by Jim Meinhardt, KanEquip Inc. has grown from a small family-owned business into a major player in the Midwest, serving agricultural and construction customers. In 2019, Meinhardt's sons, Bryndon and Grant Meinhardt, took over majority ownership, steering the company towards further expansion. The relationship with JCB, which began with the acquisition of the wheel loader and telehandler lines, has since grown to make JCB one of the company's major brands.
In 2025, KanEquip JCB was recognized by JCB as one of the three largest Fastrac dealers in the world, underscoring the company's commitment to JCB products. "We were able to pick up the line in 2019. We really thought it would be just some wheel loaders and some telehandlers, and it's grown much beyond that," Grant Meinhardt, Vice President/General Manager of KanEquip JCB, explained.
The Kansas City location represents KanEquip JCB's first dealership dedicated exclusively to the JCB brand. The company's decision to enter the Kansas City market was driven by the opportunity to build on its long-standing relationship with former CSTK employees and bring their expertise to the new operation. "They've had employees there since 2014. They know what they are doing. They had a good representation as far as the rental house market. If we can save those guys, we have something," Meinhardt said.
KanEquip JCB's new location in Kansas City will provide customers with equipment sales, parts, and service support, ensuring the same level of service, support, and professionalism that KanEquip has built its reputation on. The company sees the expansion as an opportunity to create jobs, develop new customer relationships, and become an active member of the Kansas City business community.
The new KanEquip JCB location will offer a full range of JCB equipment, including wheel loaders, telehandlers, and other construction machinery. The company's commitment to customer support and its focus on retaining experienced employees highlight its dedication to maintaining high standards of service in the competitive Midwest market.
KanEquip, Inc., a subsidiary of KanEquip Holdings, represents a merger of family-named dealerships in Kansas and Nebraska. The company currently serves agricultural and construction customers through its network of locations, including the new KanEquip JCB dealership in Kansas City. Other related companies include ModernAg and FlintHills Equipment, Inc., which represent brands such as Case IH, New Holland, JCB, and Kubota.
With the addition of the Kansas City location, KanEquip JCB continues to expand its presence in the Midwest, solidifying its position as a leading dealer of JCB equipment. The company's growth strategy, focused on retaining experienced employees and providing exceptional customer service, positions it for continued success in the competitive landscape of agricultural and construction equipment sales.
