ARLINGTON, Mass., Sept. 01, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Kala Bio and Virotek Inc. have signed a letter of intent to establish an exclusive U.S. distribution partnership for Virotek's ophthalmology genetic testing and screening program. This collaboration aims to leverage Kala Bio's extensive market presence and Virotek's advanced genomics technologies to expand access to precision healthcare solutions in the U.S.
Under the agreement, Kala Bio will market, promote, and distribute Virotek's ophthalmology genetic testing and screening program to eye care practices, telehealth platforms, and other relevant channels across the United States. Virotek, a CLIA-registered precision health and clinical genomics company, will continue to operate its laboratory infrastructure and handle specimen processing, kit fulfillment, and clinical reporting. The partnership also opens the possibility for future expansion into additional clinical areas, including oncology and preventive health testing, as well as telehealth and white-label distribution channels.

The partnership remains contingent on the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements, as well as other customary conditions, including regulatory and Nasdaq approvals. Kala and Virotek are targeting the execution of definitive agreements within 30 days of signing the letter of intent.
