Juno Industries Expands Leadership Team for Defense Technology Growth

Juno Industries, a defence technology company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, has announced significant expansions to its board, advisory, and leadership teams. The moves aim to bolster the company’s capabilities in product innovation, support its defence business, enhance customer integration, and ensure best-in-class governance.

Hunter Scharfe, the CEO and co-founder of Juno Industries, expressed pride in the new appointments.

Scharfe and Harjit Sajjan, the Executive Chairman and co-founder, highlighted the company's strong position and its mission to provide needs-based solutions to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and its partners. The company has expanded its presence across Vancouver, Toronto, and Ottawa, positioning itself well for further growth.

The company has added several key individuals to its board of directors. Claude Rochette, a Canadian Armed Forces and public sector leader with over 37 years of service, has joined the board. Rochette, who retired as a Brigadier-General, has held senior financial and operational roles, including Comptroller of the Canadian Armed Forces and Director General Compensation and Benefits. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer at various federal departments and agencies.

Alnesh Mohan, a finance executive with over 25 years of experience, has also joined the board. Mohan has been a partner at Ascend Advisory Partners LLP since 2005, providing advisory services to public and private companies. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master's of Science in Taxation, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

In addition to the board appointments, Juno Industries has strengthened its advisory team. Ron Lloyd, a strategic advisor and former Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), has joined as an advisor. Lloyd, who retired in 2019, has worked as a strategic advisor in industry and has written several papers for the Canadian Global Affairs Institute.

The company has also appointed several new leaders to key roles. Tania Belisle-Leclerc, with over two decades of experience in international security and defence, has been named Head of Strategy. Belisle-Leclerc previously served as Director of Policy to Canada's Ministers of Foreign Affairs and National Defence, leading the development and implementation of major government policies and strategies.

Dylan Neid, an engineering leader with deep expertise in automation and systems design, has been appointed Head of Engineering. Neid played a key role in scaling AbCellera, a biotechnology company, and has been instrumental in advancing its core technology platforms.

Vincent Virk, an executive and military veteran with over two decades of experience in defence technology, has been named Head of Operations. Virk is also the Founder & CEO of Northfield Systems, an autonomous systems and dual-use technology firm, and President of Pallas Group, a real estate and hospitality group of companies.

Alexandra Shiman, an executive with years of experience in supporting c-Suite leaders, has been appointed Head of Administration. Shiman brings a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to organizational leadership and operational efficiency.

Bryan Riddell, a growth executive with experience in developing markets and scaling organizations, has been named Head of Growth. Riddell previously served as the CEO of Team Rubicon Canada and as an officer in the Canadian Army and Special Operations Forces.

Sarah Mawji-Walker, a strategic communications leader, has been appointed Head of Marketing and Communications. Mawji-Walker has held senior roles in both in-house and agency-side communications, advising founders, executives, and growth-stage companies in complex regulatory and geopolitical environments.
