Jasper Therapeutics, a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on developing innovative therapies for immune-mediated diseases, has announced the appointment of two key executives to bolster its regulatory and clinical development teams.

Lisa Pitt, Pharm.D., M.S.J., has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs. With over 25 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, Pitt brings a wealth of knowledge from her roles at multiple companies and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Most recently, she served as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs at Aiolos Bio, which was acquired by GlaxoSmithKline. Prior to that, Pitt held leadership positions at NorthSea Therapeutics, Horizon Therapeutics, and Viela Bio, as well as at the FDA, where she managed the review of various drug submissions.

Shiguang Liu, M.D., Ph.D., has been appointed as Vice President, Clinical Development. Liu joins Jasper after spending over a decade in research and development, pharmacovigilance, and clinical development roles at Sanofi. His expertise lies in rare diseases, particularly in renal and metabolic disorders, where he led late-stage clinical trials and regulatory submissions. Liu's academic background includes appointments as Assistant Professor at The Kidney Institute at the University of Kansas Medical Center and research faculty at the Duke University School of Medicine.

Pitt's extensive background in regulatory affairs and her experience at multiple biotech companies and the FDA make her a valuable addition to Jasper's team. Her roles at NorthSea Therapeutics, Horizon Therapeutics, and Viela Bio, as well as her time at the FDA, have equipped her with a broad understanding of the regulatory landscape.

Liu's expertise in rare diseases, particularly in renal and metabolic disorders, will be instrumental in advancing Jasper's clinical development efforts. His work at Sanofi and his academic appointments have provided him with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this field.

Jasper Therapeutics is advancing a pipeline of medicines designed to treat immune-mediated diseases. KP-104, a dual-complement inhibitor, has shown positive outcomes in paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) and is being evaluated for other high unmet need nephrology disorders. Briquilimab, an anti-KIT antibody, has demonstrated positive clinical results in conditioning for stem cell transplant and in treating mast cell-mediated diseases such as chronic urticarias and allergic asthma. KP-701, a novel, dual-acting anti-CD79BxCD32B monoclonal antibody, is currently advancing to the clinic for autoantibody-mediated disorders.

These appointments are part of Jasper's ongoing efforts to strengthen its team and advance its innovative therapies. The company's focus on developing best-in-class treatments for immune-mediated diseases underscores its commitment to improving patient outcomes and addressing unmet medical needs.
