Jamaica Accepts Tenders for Specific Government Debt Instruments

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Sept. 10, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Jamaica has accepted tenders for the purchase of specific government debt instruments, according to an official press release. The government accepted offers to tender its 6.750% Notes due 2028, 8.500% Notes due 2036, and 8.000% Notes due 2039. These actions are part of an ongoing financial strategy to manage the government’s debt portfolio.

The government announced the acceptance of the tender offers on September 10, 2026. The total principal amount of the tendered notes accepted by the government is U.S. $402,223,657.01. The successful tenders were in response to an invitation for offers to tender the specified notes for cash, which was initially announced on September 2, 2026.

According to the press release, all valid tenders of the notes that were not withdrawn have been accepted for purchase, and there will be no proration. The government plans to use a portion of the net proceeds from its new notes offering, announced on the same day, to purchase these accepted Old Notes.
