Italian news agency Italpress has been confirmed as the official media partner for the upcoming Misurata Energy & Business Summit, set to take place from November 16 to 17, 2026, at the Misurata Free Zone in Libya. This partnership is part of the broader LIBYES! Say Yes to Libya programme, which aims to foster economic and commercial engagement between Italy and Libya.

The Misurata Energy & Business Summit is anchored in the city's commercial port, a strategic location that serves as a key maritime gateway for Libya's trade economy. The port, combined with the customs and tax framework of the Misurata Free Zone, positions the city as an ideal entry point for Italian companies seeking to tap into the Libyan market. This proximity offers Italian companies significant advantages, including reduced shipping times, lower logistics costs, and enhanced market access.

The two-day summit will feature a variety of events designed to facilitate commercial outcomes. Participants can expect plenary roundtables that will bring together government institutions, diplomatic missions, and international companies. An exhibition area will be open throughout the event, providing a platform for companies to showcase their products and services. Additionally, the summit will include a dedicated programme of pre-arranged 1:1 business meetings, as well as press conferences on both days. These events are structured to convert institutional access into tangible commercial outcomes, particularly for companies entering the Libyan market for the first time.

The summit will focus on six key sectors: Maritime & Port Development, Logistics & Shipping, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPCs), Law & Regulatory Frameworks, Financing & Banking, and Technology & Artificial Intelligence (Tech & AI). Each sector will offer Italian companies a comprehensive view of the opportunities, counterparts, and regulatory pathways available through Misurata and the Free Zone.

Chryssa Tsouraki, Chairwoman of IN-VR, the London-based consultancy and investment marketing and promotion firm, expressed pride in supporting the Misurata Summit.

Gaspare Borsellino, Director of Italpress, emphasized the importance of the partnership for mutual understanding and dialogue. "Through its Med News service, published in Italian, English, and Arabic, and through its established collaborations with leading Arab news agencies, including Libya's LANA agency, Italpress has long acted as an information bridge between Europe, Libya, and the Arab world. Reporting on an event such as this with rigorous, timely, and reliable information is fundamental to us," he stated.

The Misurata Energy & Business Summit is part of a larger effort by IN-VR to demystify Libya, bring investment to the country, and support the growth and transformation of its ecosystem. Misurata, with its strategic location and robust infrastructure, is at the heart of this programme, serving as a gateway to the broader Libyan market and beyond.
