Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), a member of the Task Force on Supporting Mainland Enterprises in Going Global (GoGlobal Task Force), is leading a delegation to Canada starting September 20. The seven-day visit aims to support Mainland enterprises in expanding their global business, particularly in sustainability and life and health sciences.
The delegation, led by Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at InvestHK, Ms. Loretta Lee, will travel to Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. The visit is part of the broader efforts to strengthen business ties between Hong Kong and Canada, leveraging the unique strengths of both regions.
Ms. Lee highlighted the significance of the visit, stating, "Canada is globally recognized for its exceptional research talent, clean technology leadership, and established life sciences ecosystem. As more Mainland green technology and life and health sciences enterprises pursue international growth through Hong Kong, they bring not only capital and access to one of the world's largest markets but also serve as ideal partners for Canadian companies seeking to explore Asia and beyond."
During the visit, the delegation will engage with local institutions, chambers of commerce, and industry associations. They will also hold targeted discussions with leading Canadian green tech and healthcare enterprises, visit universities and research parks, and participate in sector-specific roundtables and business networking sessions.
The GoGlobal Task Force's mission is to facilitate the expansion of Mainland enterprises into global markets, providing them with the necessary support and resources. By visiting Canada, the delegation aims to foster collaboration and investment opportunities between Hong Kong and Canadian businesses, driving mutual growth and innovation.
The visit is supervised by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, underscoring the importance of this initiative in strengthening economic ties between the two regions. Through this collaborative effort, both Hong Kong and Canadian businesses can explore new markets, enhance their global presence, and contribute to the advancement of sustainable and life sciences technologies.
