International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer Launches Complimentary Membership Program

The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) has launched a new initiative aimed at expanding its global reach and fostering greater participation in thoracic oncology. The Complimentary IASLC Full Membership program is designed to remove financial barriers for eligible healthcare professionals residing in low- and lower-middle-income countries.
According to Karen Kelly, CEO of the IASLC, the initiative reflects the organization's commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the participation of clinicians, researchers, nurses, allied health professionals, patient advocates, and other healthcare professionals in the global thoracic oncology community.
The new membership program offers the same benefits as IASLC Full Membership, including full access to the Journal of Thoracic Oncology (JTO) and JTO Clinical and Research Reports (JTO CRR), educational resources such as LC360, webinars, VIKTOR, and IASLC newsletters. Members also gain access to the IASLC World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) and regional conferences at discounted rates, as well as the opportunity to join Thoracic Circle, the organization's online member community.
Additionally, members can participate in committee work, vote in IASLC elections, and pursue leadership opportunities. The program also provides access to mentorship programs, research funding opportunities, grants, and patient advocacy initiatives. The initiative is part of IASLC's broader vision of creating a more inclusive global scientific community where geography and financial resources do not limit participation in advancing lung cancer research, education, and patient care.
The World Bank's annual country income classifications determine the eligibility of countries for the program. Individuals residing in eligible low-income and lower-middle-income economies are invited to apply for complimentary IASLC Full Membership.
