Intermountain Health Unveils Major New Medical Campus in West Valley City

Intermountain Health has unveiled plans for a major new medical campus in West Valley City, Utah. The nine-story, 235,000 square-foot building, formerly known as the Fairbourne Building, will be converted into a comprehensive healthcare hub, bringing vital medical services closer to residents of West Valley City and the surrounding areas.
The Fairbourne Building, located on 8.5 acres in the heart of downtown West Valley City, will be renamed the Intermountain Health Fairbourne Campus. The building, originally designed for healthcare use in 2012, includes clinic space, infusion space, and an ambulatory surgery center. With three built-out floors and six additional floors available for future expansion, the facility is well-suited to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.
According to Heather Wall, president of Intermountain Health LDS Hospital, the new campus aims to reduce barriers to care and improve patient convenience.
The Intermountain Health Fairbourne Campus will offer a wide range of medical services, including primary care, specialty care, and eventually a freestanding emergency department affiliated with Intermountain LDS Hospital. Planned services also include advanced imaging, ambulatory care, laboratory services, infusion treatments, outpatient services, specialty physician clinics, diagnostic services, rehabilitation services, pharmacy services, and endoscopy services.
The building's central location, just across the street from Valley Fair Mall and adjacent to a major TRAX hub and key transportation corridors, will make it easier for patients and families to reach care. Eric Liston, Intermountain Health's Canyons Region President, emphasized the importance of this investment.
The Intermountain Health Medical Group will have a significant presence on the campus, with clinics for medical providers in medical oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology services.
Construction on the interior of the building is underway, with several clinics and services expected to open later this year. The freestanding emergency department is planned to open in late 2027. Intermountain Health's commitment to delivering exceptional care and improving access to high-quality healthcare in the community is evident in this expansion. As West Valley City continues to experience dramatic growth, the new medical campus will play a crucial role in supporting the health and well-being of its residents.
