JERSEY CITY, N.J., Oct. 8, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) and the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation (EKR Foundation) have partnered to offer a new 15-hour education series aimed at end-of-life doulas, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of grief. This initiative, titled "When Grief Is Present," is designed to explore grief as a natural process that affects the whole person, body, heart, mind, and essence.

Grounded in the teachings of Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross and the INELDA Doula Approach, the six-module series will run from January 20, 2027, through February 8, 2027. Classes will be held each Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The course, which has a base rate of $495, is open to all learners, regardless of whether they have completed INELDA's End-of-Life Doula Training.

Ken Ross, Founder and President of the EKR Foundation, expressed his personal significance in the continuation of his mother's work.

Wilka Roig, an end-of-life doula and INELDA board member, and Omni Kitts Ferrara, INELDA's director of education, are championing this course. Roig, who is also the president of EKR México Centro Foundation, emphasized the unique approach of the program.

Douglas Simpson, INELDA's Executive Director, highlighted the importance of Dr. Kübler-Ross's work in the field.

The first class of "When Grief Is Present" will focus on self-awareness, full-self listening, and honoring the autonomy of the grieving. Participants will engage in experiential learning, reflective practice, and meaningful dialogue to strengthen their ability to remain present with grief. The course will cover topics such as the natural process of grief, the role of the end-of-life doula, and practical skills for accompanying those in grief.

In addition to the education series, INELDA will also be offering its first in-person European training in Zürich, Switzerland, in March 2027. The training, which is the birthplace of Dr. Kübler-Ross, will further advance the principles of compassionate care and support for the seriously ill and the dying.

The Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the legacy of Dr. Kübler-Ross, plays a crucial role in this partnership. The foundation's mission is to enhance compassionate care for the seriously ill and the dying and to further the acceptance of death as a part of life.

This new education series marks a significant step in continuing the legacy of Dr. Kübler-Ross and providing essential tools for those who support the dying and their loved ones.
