iMetal Resources Inc., a Canadian junior exploration company, has appointed Morgan Verge, P.Geo., as Vice President, Exploration, effective immediately. Verge will lead the company’s exploration strategy and program execution, focusing particularly on the advancement of its flagship Gowganda West gold project in Ontario.
Saf Dhillon, President and CEO of iMetal, expressed enthusiasm about Verge's appointment, stating, "Ms. Verge's addition to our team brings proven technical leadership at a pivotal stage in our development." With over 15 years of experience in mineral exploration and mining across Canada, Verge has been involved in various stages of project development, from grassroots work through advanced-stage drilling in gold and critical minerals.
Verge's background includes planning and managing exploration programs that involve geological mapping and prospecting, geophysical surveys, drilling, geological modelling, target generation, and technical reporting. She has held technical and management roles with junior exploration and mining companies, working on projects in Ontario, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, and elsewhere in Canada. Her current role as the founder and President of Verge Geological Consulting Ltd. and her presidency of the Nova Scotia Prospectors Association further underscore her expertise in the field.
The appointment of Verge comes as iMetal continues to strengthen its position for growth. In August 2026, the company completed a non-brokered private placement, raising $3 million through the issuance of 30 million units at $0.10 per unit. McFarlane Lake Mining Limited, a significant shareholder, subscribed for 14.2 million units, securing an approximate 19.9% interest in iMetal and the right to nominate one director. This strategic investment, coupled with the addition of Verge, positions the company to advance its Gowganda West project in one of Canada's most established and prolific gold-producing districts.
The Gowganda West project, located near McFarlane Lake Mining Limited's Juby Project, has shown promising results. In February 2026, drilling in the project's West Zone returned 278.35 meters at 0.424 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 62.25 meters at 0.61 g/t gold and 16.65 meters at 1.24 g/t gold. This complemented the 2023 discovery hole, which returned 48.5 meters at 0.85 g/t gold. The project's proximity to the Knight project, part of a strategic partnership between Orecap Invest Corp. and Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd., adds to its strategic importance.
In recognition of Verge's leadership, iMetal granted her 100,000 incentive stock options, which vested immediately and are exercisable at $0.195 per share until September 17, 2031. With capital, governance, and technical leadership now aligned, iMetal is poised to advance its assets and build durable value for shareholders.
The company's other exploration-stage projects, including the Carheil project with multi-metal potential, further diversify its portfolio. Carheil, located about 170 kilometers north of Rouyn-Noranda in the Northern Abitibi Greenstone Belt, has previously shown graphite results. The strategic investment from McFarlane Lake Mining Limited, a neighbor at Gowganda West and owner of the adjoining Juby Gold Project, has made it the company's largest shareholder and directly endorsed the Gowganda West land package.
Overall, the appointment of Morgan Verge, P.Geo., as Vice President, Exploration, and the ongoing strategic investments and partnerships underscore iMetal Resources Inc.'s commitment to advancing its exploration projects and creating value for its shareholders.
