Ikonopedia, a leader in structured reporting and clinical decision support for breast imaging, has released a new version of its software, Ikonopedia 2026.08.0, which includes significant updates aligned with the American College of Radiology’s BI-RADS® v2025 (6th Edition). The release, deployed on the evening of September 15, 2026, introduces enhancements to Method of Detection tracking and reporting, as well as additional performance improvements.

The new release incorporates updated terminology defined by the ACR, which spans mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and pathology workflows. This helps reduce ambiguity and supports more consistent reporting. Among the changes, terms such as "developing asymmetry" in mammography and "focus" in breast MRI have been removed. By integrating these updated terms directly into its structured reporting workflows, Ikonopedia aims to help radiologists align seamlessly with evolving breast imaging standards.

The release also expands Ikonopedia's Method of Detection (MOD) capabilities, which have been available since 2024. With BI-RADS v2025 encouraging the assignment of Method of Detection, Ikonopedia provides tools to track MOD and connect cancer outcomes with screening and clinical presentation. Enhanced auditing and reporting capabilities allow customers to analyze Method of Detection through administrative and analytics reporting, providing greater insight into breast cancer detection and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Additional updates include workflow, usability, and performance improvements based on ongoing customer feedback. These enhancements are designed to streamline workflows and improve the overall user experience for radiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Ikonopedia, founded to provide cloud-based structured reporting and decision support solutions for breast imaging, continues to support practices in improving accuracy, streamlining workflows, and aligning with industry standards. The company's commitment to staying current with evolving standards is evident in this latest release, which aims to support more consistent and efficient breast imaging reporting.
