Hyundai, in partnership with its dealers and more than 855 independent dealerships across the U.S., has launched a new campaign called "The Mark of a Warrior" to support pediatric cancer research and treatment. Over the past 28 years, the Hyundai Hope on Wheels initiative has contributed more than $300 million to this cause, helping to improve outcomes for over 40,000 children.

The campaign aims to raise awareness and inspire action against childhood cancer, with a spokesperson, José Muñoz, the president and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, stating, "Childhood cancer knows no borders, and neither should our commitment to the children and families facing it."

Launching with a 60-second cinematic spot titled "Little Warrior," the campaign will air nationally on September 9, coinciding with the opening of the professional football season. The ad will run across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social channels throughout National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September and beyond. The spot celebrates the extraordinary spirit of children facing cancer and the network of support that surrounds them.

Scarlett Johansson, an acclaimed actress, producer, and director, has been appointed as the new brand voice for Hyundai. She narrates the "Little Warrior" campaign, bringing to life the courage, resilience, and determination of the young warriors.

The campaign also includes the transformation of traditional hospital gowns into Warrior Gowns, designed to help children feel strong, confident, and empowered throughout their treatment. More than 6,000 of these gowns are expected to be distributed to hospitals through 2026.

Hyundai's dealer network is actively involved in the campaign. Throughout September and beyond, approximately 42 Hyundai Hope on Wheels handprint ceremonies, check presentations, Warrior Gown deliveries, and more than 100 community blood drives will take place across the country. Hyundai owners can show support by wearing the Mark of a Warrior, a blue handprint, on their face and sharing it on social media.

The Miles for the Warriors Challenge, launched in collaboration with Strava, encourages people to run, walk, wheel, bike, hike, or swim to support the 400,000 children diagnosed with cancer globally each year. The campaign aims to achieve 400,000 collective miles, with Hyundai donating $1 million to Hyundai Hope on Wheels if this goal is met. Two days after the initial goal was surpassed, the community raced past the mark, with over 3.3 million miles logged.

In addition to the challenge, Hyundai has partnered with various sports, entertainment, broadcast, streaming, and audio platforms to extend awareness and rally more people to join the fight against childhood cancer. Participating partners and talent include NBC Sunday Night Football, Amazon, iHeartRadio, Kristin Davis, Zara Larsson with JoJo Wright at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the Jonas Brothers, SiriusXM, Conan O'Brien, Jordan Chiles, Isabella Strahan, and Rich Eisen.

Hyundai's chief creative officer, Jason Sperling, emphasized the importance of the campaign, saying, "Every piece of this campaign is meant to highlight the strength they show in the face of a battle that is so much bigger than them. It gives their struggle a symbol, and highlights Hyundai's continued commitment to funding pediatric cancer research to help them beat cancer."

A dedicated campaign hub, HyundaiWarriors.com, serves as the digital home for the campaign. It features the stories of five childhood cancer survivors who serve as the faces of The Mark of a Warrior campaign, allowing visitors to explore their stories, learn about Hyundai Hope on Wheels' impact, and discover ways to support young warriors and their families.

Through The Mark of a Warrior, Hyundai Hope on Wheels is building on its legacy by inspiring more people to join the fight and advance its mission to help bring every warrior home.
