Hot Shot’s Secret unveiled a significant transformation of a 1982 GMC C3500 gas dually at the opening day of SEMA 2026. Over five days, from October 12 to 16, Morgan Evans and a small crew, including her fiancé Jason Kastner, worked in her Florida garage to swap the truck’s original gasoline big block engine with a 6.6L Duramax diesel engine. The project, which involved intricate fitment work, was completed in time for the truck’s unveiling at the 10:00 a.m. PT event in booth #23943 in Central Hall.

The transformation, which included the removal of the original engine and transmission, the installation of the LB7 6.6L Duramax diesel, and the addition of various components, was meticulously documented by Hot Shot’s Secret and Hot Rod Magazine.

The swap involved a comprehensive overhaul, including the fitting of powertrain mounts and transmission crossmember, the installation of a new fuel system, and the addition of a hydraulic clutch.

Hot Shot’s Secret supported the swap with a range of products, including Green Diamond™ PRO Engine Oil, Blue Diamond™ G56 6-speed Manual Transmission Fluid, and Blue Diamond™ Gear Oil, as well as their industry-leading Diesel Extreme® and Everyday Diesel Treatment (EDT®) fuel additives. Additional major sponsors and contributors included S&S Diesel Motorsport, BD Diesel, Precision Fabrication Plus, QA1 Suspension, and AMD.

At the 10:00 a.m. PT unveiling, booth #23943 in Central Hall, Evans and Fischer, Hot Shot’s Secret Director of Field Marketing & Partnerships, shared the all-hands-on-deck effort to prepare the truck for display at the 2026 SEMA Show. The day-into-the-night swap effort involved removing the original engine and transmission; fitting the LB7 Duramax engine and installing Duramax components, including powertrain mounts and transmission crossmember; installing an all-new fuel system, retaining the ZF6 six-speed manual shifter, then adding a hydraulic clutch, and more.

Hot Shot’s Secret filmed the five-day transformation, and Hot Rod Magazine covered the intricate swap, including all welding, fabrication, and fitment work.
