Horizon Petroleum Completes Lachowice 7 Well Workover and Advances to Production Testing

CALGARY, AB, Sept. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Horizon Petroleum Ltd. has successfully completed the workover of the Lachowice 7 (L7) well in southern Poland, marking a significant operational milestone for the company. The workover involved perforating a 58-meter section of the targeted reservoir interval between 2,762 meters and 2,820 meters, with a total of 35 meters of reservoir perforated. Approximately 14 meters of this interval had not been previously perforated, expanding the reservoir available for stimulation and production testing.
The Cardwell KM-200C rig, which was used for the workover, was released on September 11, 2026. During the workover, the company observed encouraging indications of natural fracture connectivity. Wellbore image logs from the CAST wellbore indicated intense natural fracturing and open fractures throughout the perforated interval. Additionally, significant fluid losses of about 3,500 barrels and gas kicks were recorded, providing further evidence of open fracture connectivity and permeability.
Horizon plans to commence acid stimulation and production testing on or about September 23, 2026. The company expects to mobilize rigless stimulation and testing equipment to the wellsite on or about September 18, 2026. The upcoming program will evaluate the current sustainable productive capacity of the L7 well, which historically tested at rates of up to 8.9 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d).
The workover has expanded access to the target reservoir, with the perforation program targeting a 58-meter section of the naturally fractured carbonate reservoir. The additional reservoir intervals now exposed by the new perforation program will allow Horizon to evaluate the well under conditions that differ significantly from the historical completion and testing program.
