HIVE Digital Technologies Appoints Mark Volk as Senior Vice President, Revenue

HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd., a global leader in sustainable digital infrastructure, has appointed Mark Volk as Senior Vice President, Revenue for its wholly owned subsidiary, BUZZ High Performance Computing Inc. (BUZZ HPC). This move comes as the company celebrates surpassing $1 million in average daily revenue from the combined production of hashrate services and GPU cloud services.

Volk, an AI and high-performance computing veteran with nearly three decades of experience, will lead BUZZ HPC's global go-to-market strategy. His mandate is to build a robust revenue engine and scale it globally, focusing on enterprise, government, sovereign AI, hyperscale, research, and academic markets. Volk brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM, and Platform Computing, where he successfully commercialized AI and HPC technologies and grew multi-billion dollar businesses.

HIVE Digital Technologies has spent years building the foundational elements of its business, power, compute, and commercial execution. The company's Swedish Bitcoin mining operations have contributed significantly to its revenue, with the facility producing 2% of global Bitcoin network production. However, the company is now shifting its focus towards repurposing existing infrastructure toward higher-value HPC and AI applications, aiming to put every megawatt to its highest and best use.

Speaking on the appointment, Frank Holmes, Executive Chairman of HIVE Digital Technologies, stated, "Great companies are built by great teams. He understands sovereign AI, enterprise customers, and how to convert a technology pipeline into contracts."

During that period, he has helped us build our current GPU cloud demand pipeline to more than $1 billion in total contract value potential. Year to date, we have closed more than $600 million in total contract value for GPU cloud contracts, notably including three- and five-year agreements with creditworthy counterparties. We are moving from building infrastructure to scaling a global AI platform, and Mark is one of those people who can help us achieve that."

HIVE Digital Technologies is also excited to announce that as of August 21, 2026, the company has produced an average of approximately 12 Bitcoin per day, representing about 2% of global Bitcoin network production, while its GPU cloud operations have generated approximately $100,000 in average daily revenue. The company's dual-engine strategy combines long-life digital infrastructure assets with renewable energy to generate diversified, long-term cash flows across AI infrastructure and digital asset mining.
