NEW YORK, October 6, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The Martech Weekly, an independent research company, has released its first peer benchmark, The Enterprise Martech Outlook 2026, revealing key insights into how higher-performing brands are leveraging marketing technology (martech) to drive financial value. The research, which drew on 417 validated enterprise martech stacks and survey responses from 127 brand-side marketing leaders, highlights the growing importance of demonstrating the financial impact of martech investments.
According to the report, 87% of enterprise consumer brands are reporting flat or growing martech budgets, underscoring the need for brands to prove the value of their technology investments. The research identifies a significant divide between brands that can demonstrate a measurable financial contribution from their martech stacks and those that cannot. Among those able to show a financial return, 56% reported budget increases, compared with 37.5% of those unable to demonstrate such a contribution.
The report also highlights the critical role of technical architecture in driving martech success. Among the Martech Advantage organizations, which rate themselves as market-leading or above industry standard, 74.3% said their cloud data platform was fairly or very central to their martech stack. This is in stark contrast to the 37.8% of the Market Baseline, which includes organizations rating themselves industry standard, developing, or lagging.
Another key finding is the ongoing evaluation of martech technology after purchase. Among Martech Advantage organizations, 74.3% reported managing contract renewals proactively, compared with 45.3% of the Market Baseline. This suggests a more disciplined approach to martech investments among higher-performing brands.
The report also delves into the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in marketing technology. Only 10.8% of 461 tracked AI-agent initiatives had reached full production scale during the research period. However, interest in AI is high, with 95.3% of surveyed organizations putting AI agents on their roadmaps and 65.3% of leaders reporting dedicated AI funding.
In terms of platform usage, The Martech Weekly identified 261 unique platforms across 417 validated enterprise consumer-brand stacks. Just 89 platforms appeared in five or more stacks, reflecting a focus on a small number of key technologies. The landscape focuses on owned-media marketing technologies, with the research sample's adoption patterns shaping the information sources that buyers rely on heavily.
Trust in martech is being rebuilt from the outside in, with buyers increasingly relying on peer networks, practitioner communities, independent data, and observable outcomes.
The report provides a comprehensive view of the martech landscape, offering insights into how enterprise teams connect technology investments to conversion, customer lifetime value, retention, and customer acquisition cost. It also serves as a valuable resource for martech vendors, offering a buyer-side view of the platforms enterprise consumer brands use and the sources they trust when choosing them.
The Martech Weekly's research network comprises over 42,000 U.S. decision-makers managing enterprise martech, providing a robust foundation for its insights. The report offers a detailed analysis of the current state of enterprise martech, highlighting the strategies and practices that can drive financial value and support ongoing investments in technology.
