Herbal Dispatch Inc., a cannabis commerce and international distribution platform, has provided an update on its gold royalty interest in the Blackwater mine, located in central British Columbia. Artemis Gold Inc., a Canadian gold producer, currently operates the Blackwater mine, which has seen commercial production and ongoing expansion plans.
The 1.5% net smelter return (NSR) royalty, held by Herbal Dispatch, is applicable to eight mineral claims covering approximately 3,755.5 hectares. These claims are contiguous with the Blackwater mine and are owned and operated by Artemis Gold. Artemis Gold has the option to purchase two-thirds of the royalty for $2 million, which would reduce Herbal Dispatch's interest to 0.5% NSR.
Herbal Dispatch's corporate history traces back to Paget Minerals Corp., which held the mineral claims before Herbal Dispatch's entry into the cannabis sector. The company views the royalty as a potential asset with long-term value, given Artemis Gold's ongoing expansion and production efforts at the Blackwater mine.
Artemis Gold has continued to invest in the Blackwater mine, with plans to increase mill throughput and annual gold and silver production. The company is also conducting exploration and resource definition work across the broader Blackwater land package. These initiatives are expected to enhance the value of Herbal Dispatch's royalty interest.
In line with its strategy to focus on core cannabis operations, Herbal Dispatch is reviewing strategic alternatives for the royalty. Options under consideration include holding the royalty through the mine's ramp-up phase, monetizing the interest, or other transactions that the company believes would maximize shareholder returns.
Philip Campbell, CEO of Herbal Dispatch, commented, "This royalty is a piece of our corporate history, but it's a real asset. Artemis Gold's work at Blackwater only strengthens its value. Our focus now is to ensure our shareholders get full value from this asset, whether through continued holding or monetization."
Herbal Dispatch Inc. operates as a technology-enabled cannabis commerce platform, leveraging proprietary brands, digital infrastructure, and international distribution. The company aims to scale its core business while considering the best strategy for its non-core assets like the Blackwater mine royalty.
