Heart Failure Society of America Hosts Annual Scientific Meeting with Late-Breaking Clinical Research

The Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) is set to host its 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) from October 9-12 in Phoenix, Arizona. This year’s event will feature late-breaking clinical research that could significantly reshape heart failure treatment, covering areas such as pharmacotherapy, imaging and diagnostics, and device therapy.
Dr. Jennifer Thibodeau, the 2026 HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting Program Committee Chair, highlighted the pace of innovation in heart failure care.
The meeting will include two plenary sessions on October 11 and 12, where late-breaking clinical research will be presented. On Sunday, October 11, the first plenary session will cover topics such as the safety and effectiveness of a novel oral therapy, imaging approaches for detecting cardiac amyloidosis, and real-world outcomes from established device therapies. Specifically, the session will feature the following trials:
- Cycle-1 REF: A Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-finding study assessing the safety and effectiveness of tovinontrine in patients with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. - Cycle-2 PEF: A Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, clinical study assessing the safety and effectiveness of tovinontrine in patients with chronic heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. - CARDIO-TTRansform: A trial evaluating the effect of eplontersen on health status in patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy. - 124I-Evuzamitide Amyloid-targeted PET/CT Scan: A prospective multicenter Phase 3 study cohort exploring the potential for early detection of cardiac amyloidosis. - Cardiac Contractility Modulation Therapy: Real-world clinical outcomes following cardiac contractility modulation therapy. - REBALANCE: A registry presenting real-world outcomes following baroreflex activation therapy.
On Monday, October 12, the second plenary session will delve into novel therapies and real-world outcomes, including:
