CHICAGO, Sept. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Health Care Service Corporation, a major health insurer, has completed its rebranding of Medicare Supplement and Supplemental Health & Life (SHL) products to the HealthSpring brand. This move marks the second phase in HealthSpring’s expansion, following the rebranding of Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans to the HealthSpring name last year.

Health Care Service Corporation, the nation's largest customer-owned health insurer, serves more than 26 million people across the United States. With the rebranding, HealthSpring now offers Medicare Supplement plans in 48 states and the District of Columbia. These plans, known as Medigap plans, help cover gaps in Original Medicare, including deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. They are designed to assist Medicare beneficiaries in managing out-of-pocket health care expenses and maintaining more predictable costs.

In addition to Medicare Supplement plans, HealthSpring also provides SHL products in 49 markets, including the District of Columbia. These products include Hospital Indemnity, Dental, Vision, and Hearing coverage, which offer additional financial protection alongside traditional coverage or a Medicare Advantage plan.

Jane Funk, vice president of Medicare market growth for HealthSpring, expressed satisfaction with the rebranding.

HealthSpring's expansion into Medicare Supplement plans further solidifies its position as a leading provider of comprehensive health care solutions. The rebranding is part of Health Care Service Corporation's ongoing efforts to enhance member experiences and provide more accessible and reliable health care options.
