AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, October 5, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Happy Health, a Texas-based digital health company, has made a groundbreaking leap in blood pressure monitoring with the FDA clearance of its wearable smart ring, the Happy Ring. This device marks a significant shift in the way blood pressure is measured, offering continuous, clinical-grade readings without the need for a blood pressure cuff or external calibration.

For over a century, blood pressure has been measured as a snapshot, typically in a doctor’s office or at home using an inflatable cuff. However, the most critical insights often emerge overnight. A large observational study found that nighttime systolic blood pressure was 5.91 times as informative as clinic blood pressure for predicting all-cause mortality and 6.04 times as informative for predicting cardiovascular death. This underscores the importance of continuous monitoring, especially during sleep.

The Happy Ring, developed by Happy Health, is the first wearable to achieve FDA clearance for ongoing, passive blood pressure measurement. The device captures over 2.8 million medical data points each night, including sleep, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and metabolic systems. Its platform uses artificial intelligence to build a personalized model of each individual’s health, allowing for earlier and more precise detection of changes.

The FDA validation process included 850 paired measurements across 85 patients, spanning normal blood pressure through Stage 2 hypertension. The study included patients of various ages, sexes, BMIs, and skin tones, with no subjects excluded. The technology demonstrated a mean error of 0.8 mmHg for systolic blood pressure and 0.1 mmHg for diastolic blood pressure, indicating high accuracy.

The Happy Ring also has existing FDA-cleared capabilities for at-home sleep apnea diagnosis. It is the first and only FDA-cleared smart ring for at-home diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea, enabling a physician-rendered diagnosis in as few as five nights with 98% accuracy compared to the gold standard in-lab polysomnography.

In August 2026, Happy Health announced raising $75 million from ARCH Venture Partners and OpenLoop, signaling strong investor confidence in the company's innovative technology.

The clearance builds on Happy Health’s mission to bring diagnosis and treatment into the home, leveraging advanced wearable technology and AI to enhance patient care.
