ARLINGTON, VA, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Hanover Research, a leading provider of data and insights to K-12 education leaders, has released findings from its National AI Usage in K-12 Survey, conducted in August 2026. The survey, which involved nearly 300 parents and educators across the United States, delves into the current landscape of AI use and concerns in K-12 education.

According to the survey, 55% of parents agree that teachers have shown students how to use AI effectively for schoolwork. This indicates a growing awareness and integration of AI in the classroom. Additionally, 56% of staff report that there are safeguards in place to protect personal privacy and data when AI is used at school, suggesting a commitment to ethical and secure practices.

However, the survey also highlights areas of concern and the need for further support. Notably, 41% of staff indicate that they must make significant changes to their teaching practices to use AI effectively. This finding underscores the challenges educators face in adapting to new technologies.

The research, conducted in collaboration with the Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators (MASA), points to widespread AI use across K-12 organizations alongside uncertainty about responsible implementation. While parents and educators recognize the potential applications of AI in teaching and learning, concerns related to privacy, accuracy, workload, and educators' preparedness to provide effective classroom guidance persist.
